Definition
A ratio between the percentage of farms headed by individuals selfdeclared as non-white and the percentage of self-declared nonwhites in the general population. Values closer to one indicate racial equity among farms principal operators.
Interpretation
The closer to one the value of this indicator, the higher will be racial equity and, consequently, the higher the sustainability of food system social aspect.
