Root and tuber productivity

Level MunicipalAnnual

Definition

Yield of root and tuber production. Production harvested per hectare in the cultivated area, expressed in tons per hectare.

Interpretation

Productivity measures the efficiency with which inputs are used to produce agricultural goods. Improving production efficiency is considered a fundamental path to meeting the food and nutritional security needs of current and future generations. Productivity data, subtracted from consumption needs, can also serve as an indicator of coherence between sustainable production and healthy consumption goals.
